What is personal agility? Can you become your won agile coach?

I call you to become your own agile coach.

 Why? Everything changes, so do you.

It is in fact a very simple but extremely effective mindset. In sport Agility or nimbleness is an ability to change the body’s position quickly and easily.

Business agility is the ability of an organization to adapt quickly to market changes – internally and externally.

So, what about your own agility? Your mood and physical state differ every day as well as external conditions.
The first step to adapt and make the most out of the situation is daily check-ins on 3 levels:

– physical.
What sensations do I experience in my body? Am I tired, hungry, thirsty, fit, relaxed, tense, sleepy, energized?

– emotional.
How do I feel now? Am I satisfied, bored, excited, curious, fed up, anxious, angry, pleased, playful?

– mental.
What am I thinking about now? What thoughts keep me awake? What first thought came to my mind when I woke up?

E.g. If you had a bad night and feel exhausted, and there is an important project to work on today, your brain is not in a state to work efficiently. You can try to push yourself hard or find a smarter and more agile way of managing your energy and time: take a powernap before starting the work, or do more routine and familiar work today and postpone the project until you are fit.

I do a few one-minute check-ins a day. This knowledge allows me to be more agile and effective by managing my states and activities.

I call you to work smart, not hard (!) and be kind to yourself.
